In 2007 I was connected to Brodie Waters through a mutual church friend. Once I got to know Brodie, I was instantly impressed with his deep knowledge of sports and unique insights into NFL player contracts through his work with NFL teams and the Jacksonville Jaguars negotiating and managing player contracts. Together, we created a system for breaking down complex contracts and then analyzing all players across the league comparing their salary vs. performance. Analyzing team spend per position and success of various spending strategies over time.

We teamed up and founded Roster Management System, a sports data analytics B2B platform with proprietary API. We have created a unique dataset covering not only team and player status, but salary and complex contract information including cap space, dead money, performance bonuses. Roster Management System is used by the top NFL reporters to quickly find detailed information on team spending, performance and ranking. The RMS platform allows users to try out alternate salary cap scenarios for potential trades and draft picks by comparing player bio and combine statistics with previous NFL players.
